Day 124 (July 18)

It’s been 3 weeks since we’ve come back to DC. Haley is still on an island, but a newer bigger one, where the foreign microbes are harder to check at the door, and sanitizing the entire apartment everyday is more than just a household chore.
But then there’s Anna. For those who have met her and gotten to know her (with or without the cinderella dress), you are fully aware of her dramatic presence. She’s already larger than her own 3 year-old life. You will never need to ask, “where’s anna?” because if she’s not in your sight doing something flambouyant, then she’s easily heard doing something flambouyant.
This makes for great entertainment for Haley, who is not really allowed to socialize with any kids her age yet. Anna perfoms; Haley reacts. If we are all sitting together watching “The Little Mermaid,” and Anna starts singing, Haley will mimic the singing. If Anna tries to make her laugh, either Haley will indeed laugh or make another expression. They are sisters, and they are working out that relationship. But is already clear that they are friends.
It’s worked out so well that Haley, who isn’t supposed to be around lots of kids, has a Disney princess for a sister. And how nice that Anna is such a performer and has a flair for the dramatic. I’m sure if Haley could talk, and you asked her who she’d want to be with her on her island, she’d say her Cinderella sister Anna.
Tansy, I was already in awe of your hard work and efforts on behalf of your girls, and now that I’ve seen you juggle all the balls first-hand, I’m a simply floored. You are Superwoman! love, Dana

What perfectly paired sisters! It must be beautiful to watch them interact — the actor and the reactor. With all you have on your plate, these two little girls are the icing on the cake. May you blessed to watch them grow and flourish and increase their love for eachother by leaps and bounds.

Anna’s loveliness is her own, but you and Ranan have been able to nuture it and bring it out during an exceptionally difficult time. I hope seeing her shine and seeing her with Haley eases your mind a bit about those weeks when you worried about failing her. Maybe we’ll see Anna in the park this Shabbat! Matthew claims that he doesn’t like princesses, but he jumps at the chance to be a knight, so there is an opening.
