April 13, 2008: I heart crayons!
Hi all, it’s Haley. Mom is too upset because the (Washington DC) Cap(ital)s (pro hockey team) lost (game 2 of the playoffs) AND because i accidentally drew all over the high chair. So I’m writing tonight. Hey, mom, at least i drew in a color that matches the tray!
If people don’t read the comments, I want to make sure everyone knows who Dan Carpenter is and the great news he shared — he’s the father of Josh, the 4 year old from New Zealand who had CAMT too… He’s doing great! 124,000 platelets and going up! I remember watching that number, and knowing that’s the first time it’s gone up on its own without an infusion. It’s the best feeling in the world! Way to go Josh! Only 290 more days– all of us here on Haleysgiggle are rooting for you!
I went to the doctor this week who says all is status quo– including my weight, which is not such good news. But I actually played with a spoon and pretended to eat out of a bowl with it, a first for me, so that’s progress.
Speaking of firsts, this weekend was the first time I hung out with the mom’s club kids! Even Dana’s new one was there, and I got to kiss him on the forehead. I got to play with Dave’s son, Reed– he’s so cute! A funny moment was when Mel thought she could feed me pizza because all the other kids were eating. I blocked her so quick with my uberquick arm-to-the-mouth block. I showed her!
Dana took lots and lots of cute pictures of me, and I’ll put them on the blog in the next couple of days… so watch out for them in the photo gallery!
Everyone is really worried about my eating. Especially mom– i scared her today because she got me to try a bit of a marshmallow and i spit it out. I don’t think i’ve ever seen that look of disbelief on her face before. Gramps tried to get me to eat the chicken in chicken soup. I spit that out too. And my full-body block with Mel and the pizza, I mean, you can’t get anything in my mouth! Try me! come on, I dare ya! Of course passover is next week, which i hear doesn’t have such good food. except of course for lots and lots of marshmallows. who knows, maybe I’ll take to matzah and cream cheese!
oh my goodness! I haven’t even gotten to my crayon obsession! oh my gosh! I love them! I MUST hold one at all times, and I love to color ALL the time. I’m probably the only 21 month old that is allowed to hold a crayon without being supervised, because i won’t eat it! Problem is, I let all that power go to my head, and well, I’m writing tonight because mom is still cleaning my artwork from all over the floor. hey, mom, at least i won’t eat the crayon!
